I’ve reviewed many clip-in curly hair extension brands before, but never from Amazon. Clip-in extensions can be very pricy, so I was on the hunt for a more affordable option that would still provide the quality I was looking for, as well as the curl pattern. So with that being said, I really put these Amazon clip-in curly hair extensions to the test! Lets find out if their worth the coin.
Pricing
I purchased 2 packs of 18″ darkest brown natural wave hair extensions. This comes with 7 weft clip-ins at 100 grams. In reality I could have gotten away with just one set, as I was only looking to add volume and not length. However if you are looking to add length, two is recommended. They vary in price depending on length and color. I was a bit skeptical, as I consider my hair curly not wavy, but the “natural wave” turned out to be a perfect match for my 3b curl pattern.
Packaging
Packaging isn’t necessarily super important, but I thought I would include it as part of the review. I appreciated that it came in a box, I thought it made the overall presentation neater. Many companies will just send the hair to you in plastic sealed bags. The downside is that it does not come with anything to store the extensions in, but at that price point it’s to be expected.
First Impressions Upon Unboxing
My first thoughts when I unboxed the hair extensions were that they appeared to be good quality. They were soft, shiny, and matched my hair color perfectly. The curl pattern was also most certainly curly and not wavy. As with all curly hair extensions, it’s important to wash them before wear, as the curls often get crushed in the packaging. It also helps to loosen and separate the curls, making them look more natural and easier to blend into your own hair.
Before vs After Washing
Here is a side by side comparison of how the hair looked before vs after washing. I was very pleased with the outcome. They looked much more natural after washing while still maintaining their curl pattern. I was also impressed with the fact that there was little to no shedding at all during the wash. Typically most hair extensions shed, and even some dye will rinse out. I did not experience either of these things while washing the extensions.
The Moment of Truth
After the hair extensions were washed and dried, it was time to hold them up to see if they’d be a match for my own curl pattern. Like I mentioned previously I have a 3a/3b curl pattern, and these ended up blending in perfectly.
The Final Reveal
Like I mentioned in the beginning, it’s volume not length I was after. I am beyond impressed with the quality of these Amazon clip-in curly hair extensions, they got the job done and were exactly what I was looking for. I’ve been wearing them out regularly, and have received so many compliments on my hair! The best part is nobody can tell I’m wearing hair extensions because they blend in so perfectly.
