Being a blogger, YouTuber, AND a shopaholic, I’ve accumulated quite the collection of hair and beauty products. Just ask my boyfriend, he had to move them all into our new apartment :p

With that being said, I thought it would be beneficial to share with you the ones that really work. Of course this may be subjective (we all have different hair types, skin types, etc), but speaking for myself personally, I can stand behind each one of these products. They range from drugstore to high end, so there is something here for everyone!

DISCLAIMER: I would never suggest any products I did not 100% test, stand behind, or believe in.

Tea Tree Oil

You guys… tea tree oil has honestly transformed my skin. I suffer from hormonal acne, and I find that most face washes/masks just aren’t powerful enough to combat my breakouts. So when I notice a breakout beginning to form, I will incorporate the tea tree oil into my skincare routine. I like to apply it to my freshly washed face, before moisturizing. I let it sink in for a few minutes, then moisturize as normal. Keep in mind that if you have sensitive skin, you are going to want to dilute it with water, otherwise it could burn your skin. My skin isn’t sensitive, so I just apply it directly to my face. I recommend a spot test first just to be safe!

Pacifica Kale Detox Face Wash

I know I’ve talked about this product in previous blog posts, but that’s because it really is amazing. If you want clear, radiant skin, then this guy is for you. I’ve noticed that when I’ve switched to other face washes, my skin begins to look more dull and my breakouts resurface. So time and time again I come back to this one. Also bonus points for being vegan! Make sure to use a good, hydrating moisturizer, because this face wash can dry out your skin.

Kopari Coconut Oil Deodorant

I like to consider myself as someone who is aware of what I’m putting into my body, so I’m always trying to find healthier alternatives. I have tried MANY natural deodorants, all of which have been total crap and don’t work at all. So I was very skeptical of the Kopari deodorant. However, I was pleasantly surprised! It actually works! Okay, if you plan to run a marathon, you may require something a little stronger. But for day to day activities and even light gym workouts, this stuff is great. I can go an entire day with this brand and be stink-free! The reason you should switch to an aluminum free deodorant is because, well, aluminum is a metal. That metal is being absorbed into your blood stream. Metals are toxic. Aluminum has been linked to breast cancer, and if you are using a deodorant that contains it, you are literally applying it right beside your breasts. Not a risk you want to gamble with, especially if cancer runs in your family.

Moroccan Oil Treatment

I avoided trying this product for YEARS. Why? Because I honestly thought it was overpriced and overrated. However after trying basically every alternative on the market at a cheaper price point, my hair was still terribly dry. Most people rave about coconut oil, but I find that it just coats my hair and isn’t absorbed. I later realized that’s due to the fact that I have low porosity hair (which hates coconut oil). If you don’t know what type of porosity your hair is, I recommend reading up on that here. So I finally took the plunge and purchased the Moroccan Oil brand, and let me tell you, I was not disappointed! Being that it’s much lighter than coconut oil, it doesn’t leave my hair feeling weighed down and greasy. It has become a staple in my hair care routine, if not the most important step! My hair soaks this up immediately, and it leaves it super soft and shiny. Also it tames my frizz and fly-aways. This has truly made a huge difference in the texture and appearance of my hair, and now I simply can’t live without it. It is a high end product, but I promise you, it’s worth every penny!

Jamaican Black Castor Oil

Castor oil is amazing for speeding up the hair growth process. My hair has always grown EXTREMELY slow, and quite frankly it was starting to piss me off. I was never really scalp treatments because I hated waiting around to rinse it out. I began using castor oil once a week, massaging it into my scalp and letting it sit anywhere between 3 hours to overnight. Within 3 weeks I noticed my hair and grown dramatically. Even my friends noticed! I now do it once a week on the day I plan to wash my hair, and it’s become a regular routine. If you have slow growing, or thin hair, I promise you castor oil will be your saving grace.

Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer

Love a salon style blowout, but can’t seem to get a grasp on using a round brush? That was my issue anyway, but this tool solves that problem and eliminates the brush all together! This 2 in 1 hair tool combines a blow dryer and a round brush in one, making life a lot easier. I’ve talked about this product before, and I’ve also filmed a tutorial on how to use it here. I have naturally very curly hair, but if I simply straighten it, I lose all the volume. This smooths AND volumizes my hair, and works great for straight hair too. A must have in the hair tools department for sure.

Maybelline Lash Stiletto Mascara

I have been using this mascara since I was 17, and to this day nothing really compares to it. I personally love having extremely long eyelashes, and this mascara does just that. Every time I go out, people always ask me if my eyelashes are real or if I have eyelash extensions! I also love the fact that I can layer it on to my desired length/thickness and it won’t clump. I’ve tried other brands such as the super hyped L’Oreal Paradise Mascara – which is great don’t get me wrong – but it clumps like nobody’s business 🙁 I find that for the quality and the price, Lash Stiletto simply cannot be beat!

Wet N’ Wild Matte Lipsticks

I am kind of lipstick obsessed, but I also like a good deal. The struggle right? I’m not keen on spending $15+ on a single lipstick, that I may or may not lose at some point down the line. I find that Wet N’ Wild lipsticks mimic the high end brands almost exactly, and they literally last all day long. I have a majority of the colors shown above, and they are all fantastic. The best part? Most are under $2!!! You will never want to spend your coin on any other matte lipstick again once you try these bad boys (they also have regular non-matte and liquid lipsticks as well).

Too Faced Hangover 3 in 1 Primer & Setting Spray

Easily one of the best, if not the best setting spray out there. I’ve tried cheaper drug store setting sprays, but I always notice they leave a weird residue on my skin or cause my makeup to run. You can be assured the Too Faced primer/setting spray duo will not do this to you. My makeup still looks freshly applied even after hours of dancing into the night! Plus it smells amazing.

Function of Beauty

Function of Beauty is a hair care brand that I recently tried out on a whim. I’m always very skeptical of the personalized hair and skincare products, because I always thought they were a scam. However I decided to give it a go anyway, and I am so happy I did! I received a shampoo and condition that is formulated to exactly what I need for my hair type, and it WORKS. Basically all you do is take their hair quiz, where you select your hair type and texture, and different factors and ingredients your hair requires. I ordered the smallest size bottles on a 3 month subscription cycle, but you can cancel after the first order if you aren’t comfortable being on a subscription basis. My curls have never looked more bouncy and healthy, and that is hard to come by! Plus they don’t use any harsh chemicals such as sulfates or parabens, and they are vegan and cruelty free!
